Cable allowed me to connect new PC to old HP Laserjet printer.I did have to contact the customer service tech help to get printer to print any document.Would only print certain documents at first.The tech dept. Helped me figure out that I needed to change the printer driver setting on the PC. This cable appeared to be the best option to keep running my old laser printer. But I find that this is one model that these cables evidently are ineffective on. Do a web search first to see if this cable will work on your printer. I searched after finding it wouldn't work, and it became obvious that there is something about this model of printer, and evidently a few others, that is incompatible with these types of cables. Nothing against this cable, I just should have done my homework first.

I wanted folks to know that it absolutely, positively works with LaserJet 4000 & 4050 printers. Bought 2 cables. My only con is that it is 6' so I had to rearrange one of the work areas. If you read and follow the directions to the tee, it will work exactly as described.

The first installation I did, I skipped a step and it didn't work. Note: use Windows Update to grab the printer where applicable if it isn't on the list. Say hello to facetime for mac free.
